Joseph O. Sirmans Sr.

Mr. Joseph O. (Joe) Sirmans Sr. age 92 of Willacoochee passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Oaks at Peake nursing facility in Macon, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Willacoochee, Ga. Mr. Sirmans was born January 13, 1919 son of Joseph O. and Olive Pearl Mathney Sirmans. He was a retired service station operator, a longtime member of Willacoochee Masonic Lodge and a U. S. Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II. His church membership was at Willacoochee United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Idelle Wiggins Sirmans. Survivors include: 1 Son: Joey Sirmans and wife Pat of Byron, Ga. 1 Grandson: Jody Sirmans and wife Teresa of Ackworth, Ga. 1 Granddaughter: Dawn Mitchell and husband Jody of Macon, Ga. 6 Great-Grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Sirmans were held at 10:00 A.M., today at the Willacoochee United Methodist Church with Rev. Casey Wright and Rev. Jan Conner officiating. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to United Hospice on Lake Common Dr. in Macon, Ga. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
