Rowan Corbitt

Mr. Rowan Corbitt age 75 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Corbitt was born November 30, 1938 son of Clyde, Sr. and Beadie Burch Corbitt. He was a retired carpenter and a U. S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Helen Corbitt, Lillian Spikes, Frankie Adams, Judy Corbitt and Christine Gurley and 2 brothers, Clyde Corbitt, Jr. and Jimmy Corbitt. Survivors include: 2 Sons: Carlton Corbitt and wife Shay of Waycross, Ga. David Corbitt and wife Catherine of Pearson, Ga. 2 Daughters: Regina Corbitt of Hortense, Ga. Carrie McQuaig and husband Buddy of Blackshear, Ga. 8 Grandchildren: Amanda, Stephanie, Valerie, Cassidy, Conner, Dylan, Lauren and Lindsey. Several Great Grandchildren, Nieces , Nephews, Cousins and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Corbitt will be held at 2:00 P. M. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Chaney officiating. The interment will follow in Hargraves Cemetery in Millwood, Ga. Mr. Corbitt will be placed in the church at 1:00 P. M. Saturday to lie in state till the funeral hour. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 P. M. Friday, January 24, 2014 at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga.
