Mrs. Lucille Sweeney age 88 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at her daughter's home in Pearson, Ga. following an extended illness. Born July 2, 1925 in Scotia, Neb., Mrs. Sweeney was the daughter of Clyde and Mary Sutton Warford. She had made her home in Jacksonville, Fl. before moving to Pearson in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of Pearson United Methodist Church. She also attended Sunnyside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Stanley Sweeney, Sr. and a daughter, Mary Orvis. Survivors include: 1 Son: Paul Stanley Sweeney, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fl. 2 Daughters: Barbara Palisoc of Pearson,Ga. Donna Bennett and husband Pal of Pearson, Ga. 1 Brother: Max Warford of Burleson, Tx. 5 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Sweeney were held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Sunnyside Baptist Church with Rev. Sim Youngblood officiating. Special musical selections included "In the Garden" rendered by Glenda Lang with tape accompaniment and "The Anchor Holds" rendered by Tony Allen with tape accompaniment. "Kneel at the Cross" and "No More Tears" were sung by the Sunnyside Church Ladies with Margaret Williams at the piano. Soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude was played by Margaret Williams pianist. The interment followed in the Sunnyside Church Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Paul Sweeney, Jr., Pal Bennett, Scott Bennett, Jake Bennett, Jeremy Stone and Shawn Bennett
