Mr. Robert Grover Johnson, age 52, of Davie, Florida passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. A native of Miami, Florida, Mr. Johnson was born February 26, 1961, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Erwin, Jr. and LouAnn Corbitt Johnson. He was a carpenter and an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his father, Earl Erwin Johnson, Jr., One Sister; Karen Lyon, Paternal Grandparents; Earl Erwin Johnson, Sr., and Louis H. Henderson, Maternal Grandparents; Samuel Ben Corbitt and Virue Giddens also 4 Uncles, Willard Corbitt, Dempsy Corbitt, Mickey Johnson and Wayne Johnson. Survivors include: Mother: LouAnn Johnson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. 1 Son: Dalton Earl Johnson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. 2 Sisters: Sharon Johnson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Debra Hodgman and husband Matt of Estero, Fla. 1 Bro. in law: Ray Lyon of Willacoochee, Ga. 1 Uncle: Jessie Melvin Corbitt and wife Carol of Miami, Fla. 6 Aunts: Suzy Gilbert Gail Gardner Ethel Corbitt Mary Johnson Helen Taylor Cindy Johnson 2 Nephews: Scott Norwood of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Andrew Lyon and fiancé Christie of Marietta, Ga. 2 Nieces: Nicole Norwood of Estero, Fla. Katelynn Lyon of Athens, Ga. Funeral Services for Mr. Johnson were held, Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Kirkland United Methodist Church with Rev. Marvin Goodman and Rev. James Bowen officiating. Special musical selections included, "Just One Rose Will Do", "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art" rendered by D.Q. Pittman and Rev. James Bowen with Othalyne Bowen accompanying at the piano and D.Q. Pittman on the guitar. Prelude and Postlude music was provided by Othalyne Bowen, pianist. A special Flower Ceremony was given by Mr. Johnson's Nieces and Nephews. The interment followed in Live Oak Church Cemetery with remarks given by Rev. James Bowen and a special musical number, "Amazing Grace", rendered by D.Q. Pittman and Rev. James Bowen with D.Q. Pittman on the guitar. Serving as active pallbearers were: Andrew Lyon, Scott Norwood, Chris Perry, Bill Soule, Jessie Corbitt, Jr., Ronnie Corbitt, James Corbitt and Russell Perry. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Jessie Corbitt, Sr., Curtis Giddens, Marvin Giddens, Larry Corbitt, William Earl Giddens, Maurice "Buddy" White, James Gore, Matthew Hodgman and Raymond Lyon.
