Leroy Jackson

Mr. Leroy Jackson, Jr. age 53 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Jackson was born July 12, 1960, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Sr. and Annie Lee McDonald Jackson. He was a dairy worker and always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include: Father: Melvin Vinson Luke of Pearson, Ga. Wife: Teresa Benton of Pearson, Ga. 2 Sons: Darryl and wife Samantha Jackson of Pearson, Ga. Michael Benton 2 Daughters: Leann Jackson of Pearson, Ga. Kimbra Jackson of Pearson, Ga. Brother: Mack Luke of Utah 5 Sisters: Marsha J. Pate of Douglas, Ga. Martha Sue Hutchinson of Douglas, Ga. Cathy Chaney of Pearson, Ga. Teresa Luke of Tampa, Fla. Cheryl Luke of California 13 Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Jackson were held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Saving Grace Church at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating. Special musical selections included, "Amazing Grace" and "Daddy's Hands" rendered by Misty McClellan with cd accompaniment. The interment followed in Jowers Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Leroy Darryl Jackson, Michael Benton, Clay Browning, Cage Roberts, Bobby Courson and Allen Hutchinson. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Mark Holder, Austin Hiers, Stevie Davis, Paul Miller and Nel Nipper.
