Doris Vickers Deen

Mrs. Doris Vickers Deen, age 88, of Pearson, Ga. passed away, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Oxton Place in Douglas, Ga. following a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Atkinson County, Mrs. Deen was born December 3, l926 daughter of McCager and Mary Gillis Vickers. She was a homemaker and active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd E. Deen. Survivors include: 2 Daughters: June Deen of Atlanta, Ga. Ann Deen of Douglas, Ga. 1 Brother: Elle Vickers of Douglas, Ga. Several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives also survive. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Deen were held Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Axson, Ga. with Rev. William Pope officiating. Special musical selections included "The Lily of the Valley" and "Amazing Grace" rendered by the attending congregation with Rev. William Pope leading. The interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
