Jearldean Bryant Summerlin

December 16, 1942 — July 25, 2015

Mrs. Jearldean Bryant Summerlin, age 72, of Pearson, Ga. passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at her home following an extended illness. A native of Fayette, Al., Mrs. Summerlin was the daughter of the late Marvin and Bertie Lea Winters Bryant. She had made her home in this area for most of her life. She retired as secretary for the Atkinson County Board of Education after 32 years of service. After retirement she worked for the City of Pearson as the City Clerk for two years. She was currently serving as a member and was past chairman of the Atkinson County Board of Education. Her church membership was at Pearson United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Husband: S.A. Summerlin of Pearson, Ga. 3 Sons: Denny Summerlin and wife Lisa of Pearson, Ga. Sol Summerlin and wife Karen of Barney, Ga. Mike Summerlin and wife Kim of Pearson, Ga. 2 Brothers: Gaythor Bryant and wife Jeanette of Waycross, Ga. Harold Bryant and wife Sara of Guin, Al. Sister: Katherine Stone of Waycross, Ga. 8 Grandchildren: Davis Summerlin, Amari Summerlin, Autumn Summerlin, Luke Kelly, Jacob Kelly, John Mark Kelly, Isabella Summerlin, and Solomon Summerlin. Several Nieces, Nephews, and other Relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Summerlin were held Monday, July 27, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Pearson United Methodist Church with Rev. Evelyn Duvall officiating. Special musical selections included, "Holy Ground" and "Amazing Grace My Chains are Gone", rendered by soloist Amy Johns with taped accompaniment. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was played by pianist, John Lang. The interment followed in Sweetwater Cemetery. Serving as active Pallbearers were: David McDonald, Lloyd McDonald, Herman Tucker, D.Q. Pittman, Dewayne Stone, and Davis Summerlin. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were: Jerry White, Larry Bryant, Kyle Lott, Steven Turk, Grady Bennett, Johnny Giddens, and Ken Folsom. The family request that memorial donations be made to The Pearson United Methodist Church and/or Methodist Home for Children in Macon, Ga.. The Methodist Home, P.O. Box 2525 Macon, Ga. 31203
