Carol Fish Fletcher

February 13, 1934 — March 14, 2016

Mrs. Carol Fish Browning Fletcher, age 82 of Axson, Ga. passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at her home in Axson, Ga. after a short illness.   A native of Dodge County, Mrs. Fletcher was born February 13, l934, daughter of John Edward and Eudelle Knowles Fish. She grew up in Willacoochee, Ga. and attended public school there and in l950 was named Miss Willacoochee.  She worked for many years at the Citizens Exchange Bank in Pearson, later at Sun Trust in Douglas, and retired from Ameris Bank in Douglas.  After retirement she enjoyed working in her flower gardens, sewing and spending time with her family.  She was an active member of Stokesville Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband Reggie Fletcher, a sister Donna Harper and 2 brothers Howard and Lonnie Fish.   Survivors include: 2 Sons: Randy Browning and wife Audrey of Pearson, Ga.             Henry Browning of Pearson, Ga.   3 Daughters: Shelia Browning Cady and husband Danny of Axson, Ga.                      Brenda Browning Harrell of Pearson, Ga.                      Lisa Browning Gillis and husband Andy of Axson, Ga.   Beloved friend and companion for the past l4 years Hiram Tanner, Jr. of Axson, Ga.   3 Brothers:  Willard Fish and wife Margaret of Eastman, Ga.        Richard Fish and wife Betty of Eastman, Ga.        Dennis Fish and wife Faye of Cochran, Ga.   11 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, and several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives also survive.   Funeral services for Mrs. Fletcher were held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Stokesville Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Pierce and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Special music was “Victory in Jesus” rendered by the attending congregation with Kay Pierce accompanying at the piano and Patty Spivey accompanying on the organ. Soft Prelude and Postlude music by Kay Pierce pianist and Patty Spivey organist. The interment followed in the Stokesville Church Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Wesley Cady, David Browning, Mark Vining, Jonathan Nugent, Trey Day and Robert Spivey. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Adult Sunday School Class, Robert and Jeannie Summerlin, Meg Summerlin, Sally McDonald, Joyce Johnson and Eva Ruth Osborne.   Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
