Gloria Sue Steverson

Mrs. Gloria Hunkapiller Steverson, age 60 of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Monday, April 04, 2016 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. after an extended illness.   A native of Coffee County, Mrs. Steverson was born September 9, l955 daughter of the late Troy and Ovaleen Walley Hunkapiller. She made her home in Willacoochee where she was a beautician for many years before poor health forced her to retire.  She was a member of Willacoochee First Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Steverson, a son, Charles Ray Steverson, Jr. and a sister, Edith Scott.   Survivors include: Son: Kevin Steverson and wife Laura of Willacoochee, Ga.   Daughter: Nikki Wetherington and husband Chris of Willacoochee, Ga.                      2 Brothers: Kenneth Hunkapiller and wife Joyce of Willacoochee, Ga.             Daniel Hunkapiller and wife Margie of Willacoochee, Ga.   2 Sisters: Helen Merritt and husband Jackie of Willacoochee, Ga.                  Betty Walker of Willacoochee, Ga.   5 Grandchildren: Sydney Steverson, Nathan White, Slade White, Rachel White, and Christin Wetherington.   Several Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives also survive.    Funeral services for Mrs. Steverson were held Thursday, April 07, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at Willacoochee First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Huffstuttler and Rev. Russell Joiner officiating. Special musical selections “In the Garden” and “I Want to Stroll over Heaven with You” were rendered by soloist Jason Hunkapiller with cd music.  Soft music for the Prelude and the Postlude  by the pianist Meagan Joiner. The interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Jason Hunkapiller, Richard Kirkland, Joey Floyd, David Floyd, Stevie Scott and Neal Floyd.   Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
