Ms. Lelia Boone, age 88 of Douglas, Ga. passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness. Born September 6, l928 in Axson, Ga., Ms. Boone was the daughter of Homer and Ruth Weathers Boone. She worked for many years as a ticket agent for Eastern Airlines in Atlanta, Ga. and later as a travel agent in Macon and Tifton before moving back to Douglas in l986. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Douglas, Ga. where she taught Sunday School for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Madge Boone Haskins and brothers, J. D., Charlie, Bobby and Sidney Boone. Survivors include:   Brother: Gordon Boone of Douglas, Ga. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral Services for Ms. Boone were held Friday, December 02, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Douglas, Ga. with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace” by the attending congregation with Marsha Gilliard accompanying at the piano and “Jesus Loves Me” by B. J. Holliday soloist with Marsha Gilliard pianist accompanying. Soft music for the Prelude and Postlude was by Marsha Gilliard pianist. The interment followed in the Union Hill Church Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were: Mitchell Boone, Brad Boone, Darian Boone, Kent Dobbins, Cleve Ragsdale and Jim Wilkerson. Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
