Betty Jean Murray Anderson

Mrs. Betty Jean Murray Anderson, age 70, of Willacoochee, Ga. passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at her home in Willacoochee, Ga following an extended illness.   A native of Live Oak, Fl., Mrs. Anderson was born November 28, l946, daughter of Rufus Murray and Doris Barker Benefield. She had lived in Atkinson County for most of her life and worked as a clerk at Bethel Store and Guthrie’s Store for many years. She attended Sunnyside Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Katie Lee Parker. Survivors include: Husband: J.W. Anderson of Willacoochee, Ga.   2 Sons: Lewis James Anderson of Willacoochee, Ga.                Richard Lee Anderson of Nashville, Ga.   3 Daughters: Brenda Jean Harper and husband Richard of Willacoochee, Ga.                      Barbara Jean Anderson of Axson, Ga.                      Shirley Ann Tanner and husband Emmanuel of Pearson, Ga.   Adopted Granddaughter: Billie Jean Anderson of Willacoochee, Ga.   2 Sisters: Elizabeth Blackmon of Winter Haven, Fl.                Marvie Reliford of Douglas, Ga.   2 Brothers: Kenneth Murray of Adel, Ga.                    Charles Jenkins of Waycross, Ga.   12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.   Funeral Services for Mrs. Anderson were held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunnyside Free Will Baptist Church in Kirkland, Ga. with Rev. Paul Anderson officiating. Special music included “Unspoken Request”, “My Mama’s Prayer”, “Go Rest High on That Mountain”, “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” and “Dancing In The Sky” presented by cd. The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Julian Anderson, Derrick Newcomb, Tobey Roberts, Emmanuel Tanner, Lamar Leavens, Glen McDuffie, and Michael Sandefur.   Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
