Manning Dillard Tanner

Mr. Manning Dillard Tanner, age 54 of Axson, Ga. passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at his home in Axson, Ga. following a sudden illness.   A native of Coffee County, Mr. Tanner was born June 8, l962, son of the late Manning Willard and Charline Williams. He had made his home in Atkinson County for most of his life and enjoyed salt water fishing, watching the Atlanta Braves, and spending time with his grandsons and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Buddy Blake Tanner.   Survivors include: Son: D.J. Tanner and wife Ashley of Axson, Ga.   Former Wife & Mother of Children: Brenda Tanner of Axson, Ga.   2 Brothers: Emanuel Tanner and wife Shirley of Pearson, Ga                    Chaffter Tanner and wife Denise of Axson, Ga.   Sister: Debbie Jean Lott and husband Richard of Axson, Ga.   Half-Sister: Marie Yancey of Fitzgerald, Ga.   5 Grandchildren: Manning Nevel Kayden Tanner, D. J. Leonidas Tanner,                              Richard Griffin, Kendall Griffin, and Ashton Griffin   Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.   Graveside Services for Mr. Tanner were held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Hall Cemetery near Nicholls, Ga. with Brother Donnie Stevens officiating. Special music included, “Go Rest High on That Mountain”, “If Heaven Wasn’t so far Away”, and Dance with my Father” presented by cd. The interment followed in Hall Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Chaffter Tanner II, William Lee Lott, Wiley Tanner, Michael Tanner, Jake Lott and Patrick Lott. Honorary pallbearers were: Emanuel Tanner, Chaffter Tanner and Richard Lot.   Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
