Madeline Adams

Mrs. Madeline Braswell Adams age 79 of Axson, Ga. passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at her home following an extended illness.   A native of Richmond County Georgia, Mrs. Adams was born December l8, l937, daughter of Barney C. and Lena A. Blackston Braswell. She had made her home in Atkinson County for most of her life and worked for many years as a seamstress in various sewing factories. Her church membership was at Indian Mound Church in Millwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell T. “Buddy” Adams, a son, John Adams and a daughter, Bobbie Jean Smith.   Survivors include:   Son:                 Preston Adams of Axson, Ga   5 Daughters:   Madie Rivers and husband Ricky of Axson, Ga.                         Pam Garret of Ellijay, Ga                         Barbara Metts of Douglas, Ga.                         Mary Luke and husband Keith of Axson, Ga.      Sylvia Josey and husband Ricky of Hazlehurst, Ga.   2 Brother’s In-Law whom she raised:                         Jimmy Adams and wife Kitty of Axson, Ga.                         Bo Adams and wife Bonnie of Cogdell, Ga.   2 Sisters:         Betty Ansley of Barnesville, Ga.                         Bonnie Adams and husband Bo of Cogdell, Ga.   30 Grandchildren, 64 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild, several nieces, several nephews, and other family members also survive.   Funeral services for Mrs. Adams were held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at The Indian Mound Church in Millwood, GA. with Rev. Clayton Davis, Bro. Ronnie Hardee, and Bro. Benji Adams officiating. Special music included “Lily in the Valley” rendered acappalla by Kandy Thrift and Regina Delk, "The Robe” rendered by Delores Bennett accompanied by Huey Bennett on the guitar, and “ Stroll over Heaven With Me” and “Go Rest High on That Mountain” presented by cd. Prelude and Postlude music was by cd. The interment followed in Indian Mound Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Kayla Gurley, Zachery Josey, Kimberly Carmichael, Teaira Spivey, Brody Josey and Javier Martinez. Honorary pallbearers were: Justin Josey, T.J. Bagley, D. J. Gurley, Chris Grantham and Jon Carmichael.     Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
