Daniel Washington Spivey

Mr. Daniel “Butch” Spivey, age 70 of Pearson, Ga. passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. following an extended illness.   A native of Atkinson County, Mr. Spivey was born September 15, l947, son of Homer and Agnes Medders Spivey. He had lived in Ocoee, Fl. for many years before moving back to Pearson in 2003. He worked for many years for Winn Dixie eventually retiring as a supervisor. He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include: 2 Sons: Daniel Spivey of Ocoee, Fl.             James Spivey and wife Jennifer of Ocala, Fl.   Daughter: Michelle Martinez and husband Mario of St. Cloud, Fl. and husband   3 Brothers: Dorsey “Pee Wee” Spivey of Pearson, Ga.                    Dolan Spivey of Gotha, Fl.                    Dallas Spivey Bryson City, N.C.   Sister: Darlene Spivey of Winter Garden, Fl.   5 Grandchildren: Raiden Spivey, Michael Martinez, Tyler Martinez, Mia Martinez and Mario Martinez.   Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Spivey were held Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Relihan Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Spivey officiating. Special music included “Precious Memories” and “Family Ties” rendered by soloist Charlene Padgett with taped accompaniment and “Go Rest High on That Mountain” and “Amazing Grace” presented by cd. The interment followed in Jowers Chapel Cemetery.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Raiden Spivey, Dale Spivey, H. D. Spivey, Landon Miller, Christopher Rogers, Dolan Spivey II, Ethan Rogers and Aaron Pease. Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
