John Henry "Buddy" Crosby

Mr. John Henry “Buddy” Crosby., age 75 of Axson, Ga. passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, Ga. following an extended illness. A native of Atkinson County Mr. Crosby was born January 25, 1943 to the late Henry and Lunette Mizell Crosby. He was a heavy equipment operator and worked in the sewing industry for most of his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an honorary member of Bennett Bay Hunting Club. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In addition to his parents Mr. Crosby was preceded in death by his sister Mary Frances Bennett.   Survivors include: Wife: Lucille Bennett Crosby of Axson, Ga.   2 Sons: Stephen Crosby and wife Amy of Homerville, Ga.             Tony Crosby and wife Amanda of Eastman, Ga.   Daughter: Leesa Clark and husband Bill of Claxton, Ga.   Sister: Juanita Vickers and husband Bud of Westminster, S.C.   5 grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive   Funeral services for Mr. Crosby were held on Wednesday, February 07, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pearson, Ga. with Bishop Clee Sirmans and Bishop Stevie Sirmans officiating. Special music included, “Daddy’s Hands”, “See You Again” and “Dancing in The Sky” presented by cd. Prelude and Postlude music was by Tonya Cecil, pianist. The interment followed in the Utah Cemetery with the dedication of the grave by Bishop Clee Sirmans.   Serving as active pallbearers were: Daniel White, Brian White, Ryan Beasley, Damon Mizell, Lee Mizell and Kevin Dillingham. Honorary pallbearers were:  Ronald O’Berry, Sammy Lee, G. B. Boyles, Larry Thrift, Mickey Rouse and Randy Higgs.   Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
