Sharon Mayo Register

Mrs. Sharon Mayo Register age 75 of Axson, Ga. passed away Friday, June 08, 2018 at Hazlehurst Court Care in Hazlehurst, Ga.   Born June 22, l942 in Phenix City, Al., Mrs. Register was the daughter of Benjamin and Mamie Teel Gilbert. She had made her home in Iowa before moving to Atkinson County some 5 years ago. She worked for 52 years as a registered nurse with her last employment being Assistant Director of Nursing at the Homerville Nursing Home. She enjoyed Auburn Football, helping with Vacation Bible School and working with Coffee Regional Medical Center Auxillary Dept. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister in law, Charles Frankling Gilbert and wife Thelma.   Survivors include: Husband: Dorman Register of Axson, Ga.   Daughter: Faith Lake of Opelika, Al.   2 Sons: Brian Jewell of Columbus, Ga.              Matthew Mayo of Rincon, Ga.   12 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and several other relatives also survive.   Funeral services for Mrs. Sharon Mayo Register will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Chaney officiating. The interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.   Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 09, 2018 at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. Mrs. Sharon Mayo Register will lie at the church on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers memorials are encouraged to be made to the family.    Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson, GA. was in charge of the arrangements.
